The Pierce Kickoff Classic was off to a good start with the Brahmas winning their first game of the season against Rio Hondo College in straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-14).
Head coach Nabil Mardini commented on how both teams made a lot of service errors in the game.
“That’s part of the process. You’re going to have to make errors until everyone is comfortable,” Mardini said.
Mardini was happy about winning the first game of the season and praised the team’s improvement as the match progressed.
“It feels good to get the first match out of the way,” Mardini said “All the jitters and emotions involved. We got better as the match progressed and that’s what counts.”
The Brahmas play their next game today at 4:30 p.m. at Ken Stanley Court.
