Soccer loses first game of season

Despite Jennifer Veliz and Leslie Jolon scoring for the Brahmas, it wasn’t enough as the soccer team lost its first game of the season at Chaffey College by a score of 3-2.

Chaffey took the lead as Brianna Esquivel scored in the third minute, however Veliz scored four minutes later to tie the game at one.

In the second half, Raelene Diaz gave the home side again, but the Brahmas immediately responded, tying the game in the 60th minute.

Five minutes before the final whistle, Kylie Covington scored to give Chaffey the win.

The team returns to the field on Friday, as they take on Clovis College. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
