Head football coach Jason Sabolic and defensive coordinator Torry Hughes have been released.
Athletic Director Moriah Van Norman stated that there had been a change in staff and declined further comment.
According to Hughes, the coaches were released for decorum violations stemming from Saturday’s home opener win against Los Angeles Southwestern College.
“I don’t know why I was terminated,” Hughes said. “Apparently, at the game there were witnesses of behavior that wasn’t conducive to the college environment or what the college wanted from a football coach.”
Players were informed of the decision prior to practice around 5 p.m. and were then asked to leave campus for the day.
Further details to come.
