BRIEF: Kaiser Permanente to offer vaccine incentive for students

The Foundation for Los Angeles Community Colleges and Kaiser Permanente have announced a partnership to offer students from the Los Angeles Community College District who received the COVID-19 vaccine up to $150.

According to an Instagram post from Pierce College, “All LACCD students who have a valid vaccination card dated either on or after June 16 can apply for a $75 incentive.”

The post also said that students can also bring a friend or family member to receive a maximum of $150, while the funds last.

To register, students have to log onto their student portal, click on the “Scholarship” tab and open the “Kaiser Max the Vax” application.

Several other companies, including CVS, Krispy Kreme and Amazon have also offered incentives for receiving a COVID-19 vaccination as part of a statewide effort to increase the number of inoculations.

Though Pierce’s vaccination site closed down last month, there are still a handful of smaller clinics in the San Fernando Valley. Those interested can search for the closest clinic through the CDC’s vaccine finder site.
