Since 1975, the children who attend the Child Development Center at Pierce College have been in limbo. That changed today with the groundbreaking of a new $6.8 million facility. “Building this center is a rags-to-riches story,” said Pierce President Robert Garber. “We’ve been struggling to do the right thing for the children in the center since it opened in 1975, and this time we finally got it right.”
