Date for homecoming undecided
Homecoming at Pierce College is a time to celebrate alumni and welcome a new generation of students and faculty. When it will occur, however, remains to be seen. There are two potential dates for the Brahmas home game – Saturday, Oct. 27 against Moorpark College, or Saturday, Nov.
A chunk of luck needed for “Good Luck Chuck”
Dane Cook may deliver good punch-lines while on stage telling how he punched a penguin on the beak, but “Good luck Chuck” may need a chunk of luck since sex, magic, and penguins won’t land a winning K.O. “Good Luck Chuck”, opened nationwide Friday, and grossed over 14 million during the first weekend.
Choir sings patriotism through Beethoven
A night to honor patriotism was on the evening of June 9, when the Pierce College Philharmonic Choir presented ‘The Patriotism of Beethoven.’ “I thought it would connect with the audience, and it did, by the response of the audience,” said conductor Wayne Gard.
New football coach turns up the heat
A new but familiar face will coach the Pierce College football team this year. Already doubling last year’s wins within the first three games of the season, the Brahmas are being led by Efrain Martinez. Martinez was the assistant offensive coordinator in the disastrous 2006 season, which included a player having a fatal seizure a week before the first game, another player being fatally shot outside his home and players accusing former head coach Kevin Moore of making promises of room and board.
$$Photography students invited on Beijing trip
Pierce College students interested in photography will soon have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to personally see the preparations for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. The China Pre-Olympic Photographic Workshop will be taking students to Beijing, China, to participate in photographing Olympic facilities and various important landmarks of the country.
The Christian Club’s Low Profile May Make it Difficult to Find
Most students don’t know much about Pierce Christians United, formerly known as The Christian Club. Some students just aren’t interested. Pierce Christians United, formerly The Christian Club, is changing its image. The name was changed this semester, and the club has plans to do their part in cleaning up the campus.

After completing the Pre-Veterinary Science Program at Pierce College, students hail and give thanks to Dr. Leland Shapiro for making their aspiration in life come true. In spring of 2007, students of the Agricultural Center graduated and continued to pursue their career by continuing at University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Creative Voices will be held Tuesday Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Building, where Academy Award nominated screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio will be speaking. . Elliott and Rossio are best known for being the masterminds behind the movies Pirates of the Caribbean, Shrek and The Mask of Zorro.
