The Pierce College Women’s soccer team played frustrated in a 1-0 loss at Valley College Friday. The Brahmas came out of the gates shooting, with two shots on goal in the first two minutes of the first half. Most of the first half was played in the midfield as Valley kept the Brahmas from getting into the offensive zone.

Volleyball in the Blood
What do Ashley and Vanessa Murray have in common with the NFL ‘s, Peyton and Eli Manning or tennis’s Venus and Serena Williams? They are all siblings who play in the same sport. The only difference is that the Murray sisters play on the same team: the Pierce College Women’s Volleyball team.
Football takes another beating
It was a clear cool evening Saturday at Shepard Stadium, but apparently a hot and hazy one on the field for the Brahmas, facing the College of the Canyon’s Cougars with a 53-17 loss. Unfortunately, a key mistake in the game was the Brahmas defense, ranked 13 in rushing defense in the Western State Conference, which allowed Canyon’s Cougars offensive team, ranked number two in the WSC, earn the win.
100 games ‘n’ counting for Brahmas’ soccer
The Pierce College women’s soccer team has won more than 100 games in just under six seasons, a feat for any team, and one that should be recognized by a school not always known for its athletic domination. The women’s soccer program started in 2001 and now has recorded its 103 victory in its first 135 games.
A tough Tie
Bakersfield College held Pierce College’s Women’s soccer team to a 0-0 tie on Friday. The Brahmas had plenty of scoring chances in the first half, but they could not put in the back of the net. “We are frustrated and had our opportunities,” said Coach Adolfo Perez.
Football struggles to gain footing
Pierce College’s football team was once again defeated in the hands of an undefeated Glendale Community College squad. The Vaqueros ran wild on the Brahmas defense, or lack there of, ending in a 3-28 loss. Pierce displayed no signs of awakening from both sides of the football Saturday night.
On the win again
The soccer team starts a new winning streak with a 4-0 win at College of the Canyons Friday. The Brahmas are now 11-3-2 and in first place in the standings. Pierce’s only loss last season was to the Cougars. Many of the players were nervous because of the personal rivary that has been formed in the last two seasons.
