The swim team has the formula to take Pierce College to the top of the swim league and break some old swim records at the same time. Every weekday the women’s swim team practices in the water for two hours which equates to about two to four miles each day to enhance endurance and speed; they also meet on Saturdays.

Parking lot assault: Jan. 11 10:15 a.m.: Two suspects assaulted victim, striking him several times while stealing his baseball hat in Lot 7. When one of the suspects took the hat from the victim’s head, the victim resisted, which prompted the suspects to assault him, one striking him in the jaw several times, the other suspect striking him in the back of the head.

Volleyball takes court

The 2005 Pierce College women’s volleyball team (23-4) seemed a bit unpredictable at the start of the season since all but one player from 2004 departed. Leave it up to 15 freshmen and one returning sophomore to take the women’s volleyball team two games away from being state champions.

To the community, the bus might not be the most luxurious form of transportation, but to full time students it could be a free ride. Free bus passes, for students with 12 units or more, are not only good for the entire semester but valid on all MTA busses including the new Metro Orange Line.
