Based on Puccini’s opera “La Boheme” and Jonathan Larson’s revolutionary “rock” musical, “Rent” tells the story of a group of bohemians living in New York City’s East Village struggling to live life, pay the rent and deal with the AIDS epidemic. The story centers on Roger (Adam Pascal) and Mark (Anthony Rapp), two roommates.

The Pierce College baseball team continued their winning streak when they defeated Bakersfield College Thursday at home 7-6 and 7-5 on March 14. At Thursday’s game, Bakersfield lead 1-0 for the first two innings until Willie Cabrera, sophomore second baseman, hit a double that brought Andrew Tapia, freshman outfielder, home for Pierce’s first run of the game at the top of the third inning.
“A Piece of My Heart,” a well-written and exquisitely performed anti-war Vietnam play, can be described in one word-intense. It is not for the faint of heart, with emotional strings attached to every descriptive word on a gray stage with few props to support the deep meaning of each line.
The Registered Veterinary Technology program at Pierce College has one new full-time employee “on staff” now, that means the staff is serving as both an instructor and a veterinarian for the farm animals. Rebecca A. Yates has begun to work as a full-time instructor and veterinarian for the RVT program at Pierce from this fall semester.
Prof. Richard J. Follett led a workshop on accreditation Nov. 18 for the Pierce College Council (PCC). The purpose of the meeting was to self-evaluate how well the Council is currently working, if the PCC can function more effectively and to prepare for accreditation self-study.

The Associated Students Organization has been part of the Pierce College campus since the 1970s. The ASO bungalow has been the home to members since the beginning of its time. This academic year the officers are President Daniella Schwartz and Vice President Adam Willis along with Advisor Brad Saenz who has been involved since January 2004.
Everybody should know that there is a time for work and a time for fun. Yet there always seems to be the same group of people lining the walkway of the mall in the most crucial time periods. Sometimes it can be very uncomfortable just walking past the coagulation of “students” making seemingly casual “discussions” amongst themselves.
