Ever wonder whose faces are on the Pierce College General Catalog and Schedule of Classes? Apparently, they’re not students here, just models who are paid to look young and diverse on the covers. We’ve never seen that peppy, curly-haired co-ed around campus.

Children’s dance auditions: cuttin’ a rug
Auditions for students interested in showing off their “groovin’ skills” in the Children’s Dance Theater will be Sunday at 9 a.m. in the North Gym, room 5601. Marian S. Weiser, who went by the name Scriffin when she danced, is anticipating the upcoming auditions for all styles of dance, ranging from ballet, improve and tap to jazz, modern dance and hip hop.
Textbook costs– heavier on the wallet than the backpack
Textbook prices are a big issue on many college campuses because prices seem so high and many people do not know the reason for it. The Pierce College Bookstore is usually the easiest and most reliable destination when its students need to purchase textbooks.
Riding horses in the city gives students a chance for credit
Imagine spending a couple of hours a week learning to ride a horse or a mule and getting a unit of college credit at the same time. At Pierce, it not only makes for a nice daydream but also a possibility. Among the more unusual classes offered at Pierce is Animal Science 621, a class that enables students to learn to ride horseback.
the City of Los Angeles will host The St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Friday at 11:30 a.m. near El Pueblo de Los Angeles on Cesar Chavez Avenue and Main Street near Union Station and ends at 1:00 p.m. at Pershing Square. There will be a concert and Event Center near the 5th Street and Hill Street intersection. The Saint Patrick’s Day festivities began early on campus with students getting in the “green mood.
