Looking out the window over the Arno River, I can make out the sights of the bustling Ponte Vecchio. While my friends and I practice our Italian, we discuss plans to go shopping, visit the Boboli Gardens and maybe take a weekend trip to Rome. Student workers not paid
It appears student workers at Pierce College who are getting paid through the Los Angeles Community College District are more likely to encounter a payroll related problem. “Last semester I wasn’t getting paid,” said Xavier, a student worker at the Freudian Sip who requested his last name not be used.
Phase Two: late to bloom
Other than being a shortcut from the Life Science Building to the Mathematics Building, the Botanical Garden on campus is a nice place to bask in the sun and broaden one’s knowledge of native plants. Phase One of the Botanical Garden opened in October 2003 and since December 2003, it has been a long wait for the Botanical Garden’s Phase Two.

Textbook costs– heavier on the wallet than the backpack
Textbook prices are a big issue on many college campuses because prices seem so high and many people do not know the reason for it. The Pierce College Bookstore is usually the easiest and most reliable destination when its students need to purchase textbooks.
Riding horses in the city gives students a chance for credit
Imagine spending a couple of hours a week learning to ride a horse or a mule and getting a unit of college credit at the same time.
