With their heads up and smiles on their faces, the softball team ended their season of ups and downs with something to be very proud of. Despite their many young players, girls dropping out and the team having only one pitcher, they managed to pull off almost triple the amount of last year’s wins, according to head coach Pat Grennan.
Year: 2008
YouTube: Internet gold
Since February 2005, I’ve been thankful for a little Web site called YouTube. Ever wanted to learn how to play chess? Or, maybe you’d like to master the art of origami? No worries, it’s all on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. There’s more to YouTube than music videos.
Mother’s Day, with love
Genuine. Compassionate. Empathetic. Patient. My mom. One of the most important things in my life is to have a good relationship with my parents. My mom and I have always been extremely close. With Mother’s Day approaching, I feel she definitely deserves a day to shine and enjoy all the wonderful things that life has to offer.
Students raise funds to find cure for cancer
The Quiet Hairgrowing Communi-team plans to raise cancer awareness and fundraising money at Pierce College by selling Arbonne International products every Monday in May, from which all profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Arbonne products are botanically based products that are made with natural ingredients.

“This is a big game for us,” explained first baseman Eric Bloom during pre-game warm-ups. “If we win, we have a shot at the playoffs.” Winners of six consecutive games and 11 of 13 overall, the Brahmas propelled themselves into playoff contention with a blistering April.
Our new ASO club council president
Dear Editor: My name is Obinna Ekwunife and I was born in Nigeria, Africa, and I moved to America in 1990 when I was 7 years old. This transition brought around the birth of new trials in my life, but I confronted them head on and I succeed at nearly all of the obstacles that I faced, which I can honestly say today.
Please clean up after yourselves
Dear Editor: As a mature and avid participant in Pierce College’s terrific ENCORE programs, I’ve witnessed firsthand, on many occasions, the sloppy habits of some ill-mannered students. They discard their used bathroom paper towels in the sinks, on the floor, and even on the sidewalk outside the bathroom, when trash cans are readily available.
Murdering love
What happened to Tila Tequila’s first soul mate from season one of “A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila?” What about “Rock of Love?” And “I Love New York?” The sick portrayal of romance idolized by hundreds of thousands of teenagers is a twisted reflection of America’s values.
