Celebrating Cinco De Mayo
Contrary to popular belief, Cinco De Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day; It’s not even a national holiday. It’s the anniversary of a battle Mexico won against the French army in 1862. Yet, the “holiday” is overblown here in the United States, with Cinco De Mayo.
YouTube is my style
Since February 2005, I’ve been thankful for a little Web site called YouTube.com. Ever wanted to learn how to play chess? Or maybe you’d like to master the art of origami. No worries, it’s all on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. There’s more to YouTube than music videos.
Her time to shine
Genuine. Compassionate. Empathetic. Patient. My mom. One of the most important things in my life is to have a good relationship with my parents. My mom and I have always been extremely close. Gas prices are RIDIC!
Gasoline costing $4 per gallon is enough of an expenditure to make any form of public transportation seem more appealing than spending 20 bucks on a round-trip excursion downtown.

Learning while Playing
Laughing and giggling voices echo from the Child Development Center and through the north portion of the Pierce College campus. It is a great place to have a fun time learning – not only for children, but also Pierce students who need special skills for child care.
Lead contamination closes park
What used to be full of laughter from families, the scent of barbecues and the meeting of friends, is now laced with toxic chemicals and causing a disturbing threat to public safety. Part of Chatsworth Park, which may be considered one of the most picturesque areas of the San Fernando Valley, is now being carefully measured for lead contamination and is no longer open for the enjoyment or use of the public.
