The new Student Services building, located next to Lot 1, is scheduled to open Oct. 21, according to Pierce President Robert Garber.
It was originally said to open in September, has been pushed back. The grand opening will take place after the Los Angeles Community College District meeting in the Great Hall.
The building was constructed to allow all of the services to be in a place, instead of being scattered around campus, as they are now.
“The design [goal is] to be a prominent and accessible venue, especially for new students,” Joy McCaslin, Ph.D., vice president of student services, said during a press conference in March. “New students will come in and see where to go and get help that can be offered.”
