Football schedule for fall released

The final schedule for Pierce’s football team has been released.

The schedule, which consists of ten games and one bye week, differs slightly from the Brahmas schedule from last year.

Pierce will no longer be competing against two teams that helped lead them to their first conference championship since 1985. Antelope Valley College, who Pierce narrowly beat last season with a final score of 41-44 and East Los Angeles College, who Pierce also beat with a final score of 35-27.

Also absent from the Fall ’10 schedule is Allen Hancock College, who last year gave Pierce one of its few losses, with a final score of 42-17.

The new teams to the schedule are Glendale City College, who last season had a record of 4-6, Long Beach City College, who last season had a record of 3-7 and Bakersfield College, who last season had a 9-1 record.

Although some teams might be daunted by the added competition of someone like Bakersfield who has such an impressive record, the Brahmas are unafraid.

It’s actually a dream come true.

At the inaugural Hall of Fame dinner head coach Efrain Martinez told Roundup sports editor Tyler McGee “We want Bakersfield, we asked for them,” with a bold confidence in his tone.
