Bernard Stratford, 19, linebacker for the Pierce football team, has been confirmed as the unidentified male fighting with Robert Rains last Tuesday outside the Great Hall during the “Accept and Respect Festival” funded by the ASO.

“I did think it [the location and time] was very ironic,” said Cindy Gerges, Club Council President. “Other than that, I don’t think it affected it [the festival] in any way.”

Gerges did not witness the fight.

“Honestly, I just came outside, and they just said there was a fight,” said Gerges. “I think most people didn’t even notice.”

Chris Suard, ASO President, said that the police suspended Rains for two days.

Suard also said that Stratford was the one who accidentally hit him, not Rains.

EJ Tormes, ASO Clerk, said that he had represented the child development department as ASO Senator.

However, according to records kept, Tormes said that including today’s ASO meeting, Rains had missed six meetings. He was ineligible to continue serving in that position by the time he missed three meetings.

During the fight last week, Rains was then no longer an ASO Senator.

Gerges said that Lauren Aardema, candidate for ASO Vice President, had Rains help with her publicity efforts, before asking him to leave her campaign.

Stratford said he voted for the other VP candidate.

“I sweat and bleed for this school on the football field,” said Stratford. The linebacker said he needed a Vice President who isn’t affiliated with negativity.
