Pierce College Council members unanimously passed the motion to establish an Enrollment Management Committee 19-0 to help achieve and maintain the optimum recruitment, retention and attainment of students.
“We need to make wise decisions for enrollment and curriculums in the future,” said chair member Lyn Clark. “It will be a guideline for making decisions and programs regarding course offerings.”
Benefits of the Enrollment Management Committee include deciding on course offerings based on the increasing population and changing demographic to better serve students.
Associate Dean of Student Success and Basic Skills Crystal Kiekle states the goal of the committee is for the college to ask itself, “Are we proactively shaping how our college should look in terms of enrollment?”
The committee will also develop a new strategic plan and updated master plan to make sure all programs and services are aligned with the changing needs and strengths of new students.
