The Los Angeles Police Department was at Pierce College on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into a robbery that left one victim with a broken jaw.
Detective Doug Johnson of the LAPD Topanga Division said the robbery occurred off-campus at a private residence, but said he could not disclose details about either the victim or a suspect because of the sensitive nature of the investigation.
Johnson was accompanied by an LAPD officer, another detective and Pierce Sheriff’s Department Deputy Al Guerrero. The group was seen entering a classroom in the Village on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at about 11 a.m. However, Johnson could not reveal whether they were there to question a suspect, person of interest or witness.
According to Johnson the case is being handled by the LAPD, but said “the Sheriff’s Department is assisting” the police with their investigation at Pierce.
