Women’s volleyball recieves honors

The Brahmas received awards in all categories of the East Division Women’s Volleyball 2017 All-Conference List, including the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Former head coach Nabil Mardini was awarded Coach of the Year, which concluded his 17th season leading the Brahmas.

Outside hitter Shari Volpis had the most kills for the team this season with 330 kills, 11 service aces and 111 digs, which earned her Player of the Year award.

Middle blocker Cairo Harrell and libero Julia Izquierdo made first team.

Harrell had 243 kills, four service aces and 40 digs, while Izquierdo had six kills, 66 service aces and 314 digs.

Outside hitter Haley Rousselle and setter Kacy Hele made second team.

Rousselle had 276 kills, 36 service aces and 112 digs, while Hele had six kills.

Outside hitters Janis Serrano (126 kills) and Sydney Long (73 kills) received honorable mentions.

The Brahmas went undefeated during conference (8-0) and rounded out this season with a 23-8 overall record.
