Swimming laps and filling gaps

A ‘Swim to Support Pierce Pool’ fund-raiser Oct. 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be hosted by the Friends of Pierce Pool at the college pool. The funds will specifically be used for the maintenance of the pool, which, according to Friends of Pierce Pool’s mission statement is a valuable asset to the college and surrounding community.

Jewish club Bianca Lopez 1-1-1-1 The HILLEL Jewish Club has open arms to anyone who wants to join in their year around events. HILLEL had a kick off free Kosher BBQ Thursday with tropical drinks and a “rockin’ hula contest.” Andrew Schwartz, part of the Jewish Campus Services Corps Fellow, said he is looking forward to the outcome of students who join this semester.

The Halloween Festival Finally Arrives

This weekend Pierce College is proud to welcome back their annual Halloween Harvest Festival. This wildly popular event opens this friday, September 29 at 7pm. At the corner of De Soto and Victory for the next five weeks and everyone is invited. Preparations for this fest seem to be going right on schedule, according Linda Carberry, the school’s farm center manager.

Masterpieces from the masters!

A creative exhibit featuring the art work of 14 faculty members was on display Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the faculty art gallery reception at Pierce College. There were about 40 people present, mainly faculty, students and friends. The faculty art show reception has happened for the past several years at Pierce College and is a night to recognize the works of teachers, not students.
