As the summer closes and the fall semester begins, new students are invited to attend Pierce College’s Welcome Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
With classes beginning as early as Aug. 31, guided tours will be provided on campus in order to help new students gain a better sense of direction around the Pierce campus, according to the Pierce College Web site. The opportunity to talk to counselors, financial aid representatives and other groups will be available to the students.
In addition, the Great Hall within the Student Community Center will host a Student Services Fair to better inform students about what they can expect while attending Pierce.
To help alleviate some financial pressure, a blue tent containing a 5 percent discount-on-books coupon will be set up next to the Library.
Free parking will be available in Lot 7. Entry to parking lot 7 can be acquired through the entrance on Mason Ave. off Victory Blvd.
