Ending the regular season with only one loss, Southern Western State Conference champions the Pierce College women’s soccer team won their last match of the season 3-0 against College of the Canyons on Nov. 9. A heartbreaking late goal separated what was a close match between Pierce College’s women’s soccer team and Cypress College as they lost 2-1 in the first round of Regionals on Nov.17 at the Pit. The result was tough on the Brahmas as the match was fairly even with both sides sharing possession and vying for a winning goal all the way until the final whistle.

Pierce butters up faculty By: Ben Rizzo Follow the pleasant aroma of freshly-popped buttery popcorn downstairs from the Pierce College library and you will find the Faculty Staff Resource Center (FSRC). Opened in July, the center provides staff and faculty, both part-time and full-time, a place to complete classroom preparations, hang out with other faculty members or just enjoy some peace, quiet and popcorn.
The sterile room is quiet with blue chairs lining the walls and anxious students looking over papers. Above them, a poster hangs with the quote “You measure the size of accomplishments by the obstacles you had to overcome to reach your goals.” This is the waiting room for the counseling office and where most Pierce College students begin their long journey to graduation.

Code blue emergency is the name of the Pierce College safety system that is going through an investigation to be upgraded. The blue box system is triggered by fake calls more than it is by real emergencies. If you take a walk around all 427 acres of Pierce’s campus, you will notice a pattern of 22 blue emergency boxes scattered consistently throughout the grounds.
Spectators and team members witnessed a one-sided game as Pierce College Women’s Basketball team humiliated Victor Valley College at the first game of the season with an upsetting score of 98 to 28. Brahmas started strong with a breaking stampede that shook and shattered the Rams’ defensive and offensive game plan, making Brahmas dominate the entire game from the beginning until that buzzer sound blew at the end of second-half.
