eBooks: free, useful resources for finals
When writing a term paper or during finals when students are trying to cramp in every minute they can get for studying, eBooks can be very helpful and the cost is free. The Pierce College library added more eBooks, digital versions of published print materials, to its collection earlier this semester, which currently has more than 15,000 eBooks already gathered including reference, research and reading materials.

“Bowl game or bust.” Head coach Efrain Martinez firmly declared his team’s philosophy during one of the Brahmas’ final practice sessions in early September. The second-year head coach sought to improve upon his 2007 rookie season, in which Pierce College compiled a 5-5 record, but retained only 11 sophomores for 2008, a year that saw the Brahmas plagued by injuries and a lack of team chemistry, all culminating in a 2-8 season record and no bowl game attended.
Cerritos wins women’s soccer championship
The Falcons win their second consecutive state championship with 4-2 win against Santa Rosa.
Cafeteria gains wireless Internet
Renaming the Pierce College cafeteria to the Country Cafe last winter gave it a more modern feel, and now the dining area offers wireless Internet. The wireless service is free with any purchase. There are many varieties of food for sale at the cafeteria including breakfast muffins, pizza and beverages, and the Brahma deli carries hot and cold sandwiches, even for vegetarians.
