The Los Angeles Community College District board of trustees has appointed attorney Angela J. Reddock, of Westchester, to fill the vacant trustee seat that has existed since the February resignation of President Michael Waxman. Winds leave campus in the dark

Due to 65 mph winds in the San Fernando Valley, a power outage affected most of the Pierce College campus along with parts of the Valley and Los Angeles Thursday at approximately 12:45 p.m. According to Dubinsky, manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, who did not give a first name, strong winds caused power lines to collapse as well as trees to topple over, knocking down power lines.

Each year, $30,000 is spent on 29 databases available to students for free in the library and in their homes. Subscriptions for search databases allow students to view journals and full text articles from databases such as InfoTrac, LexisNexis academic, Newsbank and Business Source Premier, the world’s largest full text business database.
